At Creative Asphalt, we recently partnered with Nelson Power Center in Selma, CA, to maintain and refresh their asphalt parking area. As a business that specializes in providing high-quality garden machines and parts, Nelson Power Center needed a clean, well-maintained surface to enhance the appearance of their property and ensure safe vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
The project covered 6,180 square feet of asphalt, which we tackled with precision and efficiency. First, we prepped the surface by thoroughly cleaning it using a combination of brooms, sweepers, and power blowers. These tools allowed us to remove debris and dirt, ensuring the surface was completely clear before any further work began. For us, starting with a clean slate is critical, as this step helps guarantee the best results when applying sealcoating.
Next, we focused on treating the oil spots. Over time, oil can seep into asphalt surfaces, causing significant damage if left untreated. We burned off the existing oil spots and applied a specialized treatment to neutralize any remaining residue. This process cleaned the surface and prepared it for the next step, allowing the sealcoat to adhere properly and protect the surface from further wear and tear.
We applied two coats of ACE seal once the asphalt was clean and treated. Sealcoating is essential for protecting asphalt from the harsh effects of weather, traffic, and spills. Our ACE seal creates a durable, long-lasting barrier that shields the surface from damage while enhancing its appearance with a fresh, dark finish. Applying two coats ensures the asphalt remains resilient and extends its lifespan, reducing the need for costly repairs.
The final step of the project involved restriping the parking lot. Clear and visible traffic symbols are crucial for any business. We restriped the traffic symbols precisely as shown in the original layout, ensuring that the parking lot remained organized and easy to navigate.
This project was completed in a single day, minimizing disruption to Nelson Power Center’s operations.
