At Creative Asphalt, we recently tackled a challenging project for Bank of the Sierra’s Visalia Mooney branch in Visalia, CA. The drive-through lanes had suffered significant damage, and the client needed a quick and efficient solution without disrupting their daily operations. To meet this need, we worked closely with the bank to devise a plan that allowed at least one drive-through lane to remain open at all times. This approach ensured the bank could continue serving its customers without interruption while we completed the necessary repairs.
The project started with the removal of the damaged asphalt. We saw cut and removed 924 square feet of failed asphalt and base material. Removing the compromised sections of the drive-through lanes was crucial, as leaving damaged areas in place would only lead to further deterioration. Once the old asphalt and base were cleared away, we graded and compacted the base, ensuring a solid foundation for the new asphalt.
Next, we paved the area with over 20 tons of hot mix asphalt, compacted to a thickness of 3 inches. Hot mix asphalt is ideal for projects like this because of its durability and ability to handle heavy traffic. We ensured the asphalt was thoroughly compacted, giving the new surface the strength it needed to perform well under the daily stress of vehicles using the drive-through lanes.
Once the paving was complete, we moved on to restriping the traffic symbols. Accurate and visible striping is essential for directing traffic safely and efficiently, especially in a high-traffic area like a bank’s drive-through lanes. We carefully restriped the existing traffic symbols according to the original layout, ensuring everything was clear and easy for drivers to follow.
The project was completed on schedule, allowing Bank of the Sierra to continue serving their customers with minimal disruption. We delivered a high-quality result that met the client's needs by working efficiently and ensuring at least one lane remained open throughout the process. This project highlights our ability to provide professional, effective asphalt solutions while minimizing the impact on day-to-day operations.
