At Creative Asphalt, we recently completed a project for Evergreen Care Center, a retirement center here in Fresno. The center’s 12,000-square-foot parking lot required attention, and after a thorough evaluation, we determined that an asphalt overlay would offer the most value.
We started by milling 2 inches of the existing asphalt to create a solid foundation. This gave us the right base to ensure the longevity of the overlay. We then laid down 170 tons of hot mix asphalt at a thickness of 2.5 inches. Our experienced team completed both the milling and paving in just one day, minimizing disruptions for the care center’s residents and staff.
The next day, we returned to stripe the parking lot, adding the final touches to make the space fully functional. One of the unique challenges we faced during this project was maintaining access for ambulances. As a retirement home, Evergreen Care Center needed to ensure that emergency vehicles could still get in and out, so we coordinated closely with the staff to always keep certain areas accessible.
The project was a success, and the newly overlaid parking lot now provides a safe, smooth surface for the residents, staff, and visitors of Evergreen Care Center.
